Among them, the EYWA System, developed by the BEYOND Centre, is featured for its ability to predict mosquito-borne disease risks through advanced modelling and climate intelligence.
By combining Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) data with local entomological observations and historical epidemiological records, EYWA identifies areas where mosquito populations may surge and assess the likelihood of disease transmission, providing public-health authorities the scientific insights to act early—deploying targeted vector-control measures, optimising resources, and reducing the probability of large outbreaks.
