Maria Sdraka received her MSc diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2016.
She then pursued a PhD in Data Science at the Artificial Intelligence and Learning Systems (AILS) laboratory of ECE NTUA, where she mainly worked on the analysis and manipulation of medical images to support timely diagnosis and evaluation. Between 2018 and 2020 she also worked as a professional Software Engineer at a major e-commerce company designing and developing tools for the automation of content handling pipelines.
She is currently resuming her PhD at the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of the National Observatory of Athens in the context of developing and applying Deep Learning techniques on big Earth Observation data for the damage assessment and monitoring of natural disasters.
